The project was designed to reduce flooding on the lower sides of Edinburgh and Lerwick. There is reduced flooding on N. Fremont at Ramona. A short section of drain will be installed on Lerwick diverting water to the Navy Lake.
This project was delayed because there was nowhere for the water to go. It depended upon a new system for N. Fremont Street that is now under construction. The project is starting at the Navy Lake and will work backward to Airport at Edinburgh.
Construction on Airport Road is slated to begin at the end of December and finish in the month of January.
